Opening of Oita Port Ozai West New Ro-Ro Terminal
Overview of the New RoRo Terminal
Oita Prefecture is located in eastern Kyushu, and has had a long history of maritime trade and maritime transport. Currently, there are five important ports in Oita Prefecture: Beppu Port, the sea gateway to the international tourist hot spring cultural city of Beppu; Oita Port, which is located in the Oita coastal industrial area; Tsukumi Port, the cement and limestone shipping port; Saiki Port, the logistics hub for the southern region of the prefecture; and Nakatsu Port, a distribution hub for the northern region of the prefecture. The prefecture is currently developing its maritime transport bases for large ships such as ferries and RORO ships.
We are pleased to announce that the first berth of the Oita Port Ozainishi RORO Ship Terminal, which has been under construction by the national and prefectural governments to accommodate the increase in marine transport cargo, has been completed and will begin operation on May 24, 2025.
