Oita Prefecture is working together with its residents and businesses to achieve its "Oita Prefecture version of carbon neutrality." To achieve this, it is important to create a system in which companies that implement environmentally friendly initiatives are widely recognized.
Oita Prefecture, together with Oita Bank, Ltd., Oita Prefectural Shinkin Bank, and Buy Will Co., Ltd., has launched the "Oita Carbon Credit Club," which compiles the CO2 reduction value of solar power generation installed by companies in the prefecture into "J-Credits," and has begun accepting membership applications.
"J-Credits" are a system in which the national government certifies CO2 reductions and makes them available for purchase and sale. This is the second example in Japan, following Ehime Prefecture, of a prefecture and financial institutions collaborating to compile corporate solar power generation.
The goal is to sell the J-Credits created to large companies within the prefecture. Member companies will contribute to Oita Prefecture's version of carbon neutrality through local production and consumption of credits, while also receiving a return on the proceeds from the sale of J-Credits.
From now on, the prefecture will work with financial institutions and other organizations to regularly call on subsidy recipient companies and client companies of financial institutions to join, so we hope that many companies in the prefecture that are introducing solar power generation will join.

- Installed solar power generation equipment at least two years prior to the application date
