Green Industrial Complex Oita Creation Project Subsidy (on top of national subsidy)
The prefecture will provide additional subsidies on top of the national subsidy for GX initiatives.
To realize the "Green Industrial Complex Oita Promotion Initiative," which was compiled by industry, academia, and government with the aim of achieving both carbon neutrality and sustainable growth for the Oita Industrial Complex by 2030 and 2050, Oita Prefecture will provide subsidies on top of the national subsidies for projects that have received national subsidies and are being carried out by project implementing entities that lead to the development of CO2 separation, capture, utilization, and storage technologies, or the creation of a supply base for next-generation energy sources and materials such as hydrogen.

Subsidy Overview
Eligible businesses
- Those who meet the requirements set forth in (1) and (2) below.
(1) Project Implementing Body
Businesses that fall under any of the following criteria 1 to 3.
1. Companies, etc. with business locations in Oita Prefecture that are designated business emitters to which the Ministry of the Environment's "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculation, Reporting, and Disclosure System" applies, and that are manufacturers as defined in the Japan Standard Industrial Classification (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Notification No. 405 of 2013), which is established as a statistical standard pursuant to the provisions of the Statistics Act (Act No. 53 of 2007).
2. Businesses that make GX investments that contribute to the decarbonization of the area specified in 1.
3. Other entities approved by the Governor.
(2) Eligible Projects
Projects that contribute to the realization of the "Green Industrial Complex Oita Promotion Initiative," which contribute to the development of a supply base for CO2 separation, capture, utilization, and storage technologies, as well as next-generation energy sources and materials such as hydrogen, and that fall under any of the following criteria 1 or 2.
1. Feasibility Study (Projects that have received a decision to receive a national subsidy)
2. Demonstration testing and research and development (projects that have received government subsidies)
Eligible expenses
The following expenses required for the subsidized project, to be paid after the subsidy award is approved:
1. Feasibility Study
The expenses required for the feasibility study, calculated by subtracting the approved amount of the national subsidy from the eligible amount for the national subsidy.
2. Demonstration Testing/Research and Development
The expenses required for the demonstration testing/research and development, calculated by subtracting the approved amount of the national subsidy from the eligible amount for the national subsidy.
Subsidy rate/maximum amount
1. Feasibility Study
Subsidy Rate
(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) Up to two-thirds of eligible expenses.
(Large Enterprises) Up to half of eligible expenses.
Maximum Amount: ¥20,000,000
2. Demonstration Testing/Research and Development
Subsidy Rate
(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) Up to two-thirds of eligible expenses.
(Large Enterprises) Up to half of eligible expenses.
Maximum Amount: ¥40,000,000
