Oita Industrial Complex Business Council Meeting

Regarding the holding of the 2025 Ordinary General Meeting

The Oita Complex is home to some of Japan's most well-balanced coastal industrial zones, with leading Japanese companies operating in a variety of industries, including steel, non-ferrous metals, oil refining, petrochemicals, fine chemicals, paper, logistics and transportation facilities, electricity, and LNG, all located close together.

Not only does it play a central role in Oita Prefecture's industry and employment, but it is also an indispensable presence in the region, actively promoting community contribution activities.

In addition, the Oita Complex Enterprise Council was established on July 25, 2012, to carry out initiatives to strengthen the Oita Complex's competitiveness.

The Oita Complex Enterprise Council's Ordinary General Meeting for fiscal year 2025 was held recently, where the appointment of officers, fiscal year 2024 business report and financial statements, fiscal year 2025 business plan and budget, and amendments to the Oita Complex Enterprise Council's regulations were approved.

In addition, the council's four subcommittees (Utilities, Logistics, Deregulation, and Human Resources Development) and the Smart Security and IoT Promotion Project Team reported on their activities and exchanged opinions on future activities.

In a special lecture titled "The Developing Future of the Oita Industrial Complex," Professor Kazuya Inaba, Dean of the Graduate School of Technology Management at Yamaguchi University, spoke about the history of the Oita Industrial Complex, trends in other regions, and efforts toward carbon neutrality.

Furthermore, as an explanation of national policies, Takehiko Nagai, Director of the Fuel Supply Infrastructure Development Division, Natural Resources and Fuel Department at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, gave a presentation on the latest trends and policies regarding GX and hydrogen in the country.
